Study on Erosion of V-Ti Slag on Corundum Mullite Refractory

With the development of blast furnace hot metal and molten steel refining technology, the smelting strength increases and the erosion of the lining increases. How to maintain the advantages of vanadium and titanium furnace technology and improve the refractory material is a direction of choice for furnace lining materials research.

To this end, the corrosion analysis of corundum mullite materials for vanadium-titanium slag at different temperatures is used to understand the effects of slag erosion at different temperatures to facilitate the selection of refractory materials.

The influences of furnace slag and temperature on the material properties are identified by way of laboratory experiments on the erosion of V-Ti slag to the corundum mullite refractory at different temperatures.

Results indicate that compact structure and low porosity ratio are two key factors to the extension of the campaign Iife of the BF Iining and existence of the plate mullite in the refractory is benefit to alleviate the erosion process of the slag.
