Carbon bricks for blast furnaces. Carbon bricks have high thermal conductivity, low wettability, and low permeability to molten iron. Therefore, carbon refractory materials are widely used in the furnace bottom and hearth of iron-making blast furnaces. Carbon refractory materials are also used in the furnace waist, belly, and lower furnace body of some blast furnaces. Blast Furnace Carbon Bricks

Anthracite is mostly used as raw material for the production of blast furnace carbon bricks. The ash content is generally 5% and the volatile content is 8%. It needs to be heated in a vertical electric furnace in advance. Other raw materials include artificial graphite and special additives (metal and oxide powders), etc. The binder is heat-treated dehydrated coal tar pitch.
Ordinary Blast Furnace Carbon Bricks
Ordinary blast furnace carbon bricks are used to build medium-sized blast furnaces with a volume of 1000~2500m3 and low smelting strength. High-quality anthracite (calcination temperature of about 1250℃) is used as the main raw material, and a certain amount of metallurgical coke and graphite are added. After extrusion molding, the green billet is loaded into the roasting furnace for roasting, and the temperature should reach above 1100℃. After roasting, it is machined using milling machines and planers according to the drawings provided by the user. The processed carbon bricks are pre-installed and the gaps between adjacent blocks are checked at the manufacturing plant, and they are sent to users after passing the inspection.
Metallurgical Industry Standard YB2804-1991 stipulates the physical and chemical indicators of ordinary blast furnace carbon bricks. Rongsheng blast furnace carbon bricks also follow this standard.
