Slag Splashing for Increasing the Furnace Age
Furnace age is a comprehensive technical and economic indicator in converter steelmaking.
Increasing the furnace age can not only reduce the consumption of refractory materials, increase the operating rate, reduce the production cost, but also help to balance the production of the organization and promote the virtuous cycle of production.
The main purpose of the slag splashing is to increase the furnace age.
The theoretical basis of the slag splashing:
The slag splashing protection furnace makes the slag containing a high amount of MgO, C2S and C3S to be splashed on the surface of the lining, and forms a slag splashing layer with high refractoriness when solidified, thereby protecting the lining from being eroded.
Adding dolomite to make slag, the content of MgO in the slag reaches 6-8%, enters the saturated state, reduces the diffusion of MgO in the lining to the slag, reduces the erosion of the slag in the smelting of the slag, and improves the life of the lining.
