Types of Rongsheng Magnesia Chrome Bricks
Usually, the raw materials used to produce MgO-Cr2O3 products are mainly magnesia sand, chrome ore, and synthetic magnesia chrome sand. Sometimes a small amount of additives are added. Sintered magnesia sand and fused magnesia sand with different MgO contents (generally greater than 89%) are combined with refractory grade chromium ore, chrome concentrate, sintered or fused synthetic magnesia chrome sand with different Cr2O3 contents (sometimes a small amount of chrome green is added). Production Process of Magnesia-Chrome Bricks
A typical batch of magnesia chrome bricks is chromium ore 2.0~0 mm, 25%~35%; magnesia sand 3~0 mm, 40%~45%; magnesia sand less than 0.088 mm, 20%~30%.
The batch of a thermally stable magnesia-chrome brick is chromium ore 3~1 mm, 35%; magnesia sand 3~0mm, 30%; magnesia sand less than 0.088 mm, 35%.
The mixing, molding, and drying of magnesia-chrome brick are the same as those of magnesia brick.
Usually, because chromium ore contains low-valent iron, when sulfite pulp waste liquid is used as a binder for molding, the residual carbon is not easy to burn out in the preheating zone. Therefore, the stacking bricks of magnesia chrome bricks should leave a larger fire channel, appropriately reduce the density of the stacking bricks, and increase the heating speed of the bricks in the preheating zone.
Magnesia chrome bricks should be fired at the highest possible temperature. Because the microstructure and properties of magnesia-chrome bricks are greatly affected by the firing temperature. The highest firing temperature of ordinary magnesia-chrome bricks is generally between 1550 and 1600°C. Under the premise of ensuring the shape accuracy of the product, the firing temperature should be as high as possible.
