Zircon refractory bricks for sale is also known as Zircon Bricks, it is made from stable calcined zircon. High temperature performance of zircon bricks are very good, their melting point of zircon brick is as high as 2700℃ and they also have good corrosion resistance. Zircon bricks are mainly used as lining refractory of glass furance, such as working ends and feeder channels in melting tanks. Zircon refractory bricks can also serves as separation layer between silica and fusion cast materials in order to prevent contact reactions. Zirconia based bricks include zirconia corundum brick, zirconia mullite brick, zirconia bubble brick, zirconia chrome corundum brick, etc.

    Zircon Brick Characteristics

Zirconia refractory brick is an acidic refractory material with excellent corrosion resistance, thermal conductivity decreases with increasing temperature, and load softening temperature is high (nearly 1500 ° C). Its basic characteristics are:

    1. Excellent mechanical strength.
    2. High bulk density.
    3. Thermal shock stability.
    4. Good resistance to corrosion.
    5. High refractoriness under load.

In addition, Zirconia bricks have high refractoriness and are not easily dissolved by chemical attack of slag; Zirconia refractory bricks have good corrosion resistance and thermal shock resistance to slag and molten steel.

Production Technology of Dense Zircon Bricks

High-density, low-porosity zircon bricks are generally made of fine zircon powder, which is cast or isostatically pressed into large-sized blanks, and then cut, ground, and processed into zircon products after high-temperature firing. The zircon raw material for isostatic pressing can be zircon concentrate with a particle size of <0.125 mm and a reasonable particle size distribution. It can also be a zircon granulated material prepared by spray drying a slurry consisting of finely ground zircon concentrate and water, a binder, a dispersant, etc.

    Zirconia Brick Manufacturing Process

Clay-bound Zirconia products can be made using a semi-dry process. 2% plastic clay is added to the zircon sand and zircon fine powder, and the performance of the mud is adjusted by electrolyte. The mud was kneaded and molded under a pressure of 127 MPa (molding moisture was 4%). After the brick body was dried, it was baked at a temperature of 1400 °C. When a pure zircon product is produced, the zircon fine powder can be surface-activated. The zircon sand and the zircon fine powder having a particle size of less than 0.03 mm are compounded in a ratio of 1:1. The slurry is prepared by adding water or sulfite pulp waste. After kneading, molding (molding moisture 4.5%), and firing at 1450 ° C.

    Dense Zircon Bricks Parameters

Index parameters of dense zircon bricks for glass melting furnace. Dense zircon bricks for glass-melting furnaces are divided into two grades: high-density ZS-G and dense ZS-Z. Application of Dense Zircon Bricks

Dense zircon products have low porosity, dense structure, high-temperature strength, good resistance to glass liquid penetration and erosion, and will not form defects such as bubbles, stones, and scars in the glass. The resistance to glass liquid erosion of zircon products is second only to dense chromium oxide products and has excellent mechanical properties and thermal shock resistance. Compared with dense chromium oxide products, zircon products have lower costs.

Dense zircon products are widely used as pool walls and bottom materials for glass tank kilns and as backing bricks for dense chromium oxide bricks. Zircon is also often used in combination with mullite bricks as a refractory material for the upper part and flue of the tank kiln.

    Zircon Refractory Brick Applications

    1. Glass contact parts of alkali free or low-alkali glass melting furnace.
    2. Soda-lime glass kiln as neutral brick, skew brick.
    3. Paving and sub paving, channel blocks, sidewall of glass fiber furnace and floating glass tanks.
    4. Upper area of flame space or frequent thermal shock region, lining of alkali-free or low-alkali glass, sodium-calcium glass, boron-silicate glass, ceramic glass, lead glass, and other glass melting furnace.
    5. Transition region between upper roof silica brick and fused zirconia-corundum brick or fused zirconia-mullite brick.
    6. Transition region between silica brick and magnesia brick, crown, burner, thermal couple, peephole, etc.

    Zirconia Brick from Rongsheng Factory

Rongsheng Zirconia brick / Zirconia bricks produced by stable zircon sand with the advantage of mechanical strength, excellent stability to thermal shock, resistance to corrosion, high refractoriness under load and inertness, high density, etc. It is widely used in glass furnace, non-ferrous metal smelting furnace, and pure steel furnace.

    1. Zirconia Brick is manufactured using high quality Zirconia and zirconium corundum clinker raw materials with ceramic and chemical bonding.
    2. Zirconia brick is shipped under high pressure and fire with high temperature with scientifically and reasonably gradating and adding good performance of additives.

Therefore, Zirconia bricks, short of zircon refractory bricks, called as zirconium bricks, also refer to ordinary zircon bricks. Zircon bricks are usually fired by using zircon as the main raw material and adding a suitable sintering agent (the most common one is refractory clay). Sometimes, in order to improve the performance of zircon bricks, special components such as high alumina bauxite, fused corundum or chromium oxide are added to make special zircon bricks.
